my name is stephanie. i've been workingwith dr. kapoor for about 8 months now. the procedure i'm having done today is called perma lip augmentation. it's actually a silicone implant that i will be having implanted in my upper and lower lip.los angeles lip augmentation is something that i have thought about for a while. i've been wantingto get it done for quite some time. i actually wanted to get injectables.i never got it done. then when perma lip augmentation came out i was reallyexcited about it. so i'm looking forward to getting my los angeles lip augmentation. i have full lips but i want a little bit of a plumpy look. that's pretty much the only reason i want to get my lips done. for a little bit more of a plumpy look for myself. basically, perma lip augmentation is a very thin silicone implant that is contoured to the shape of ones lips.
perma lip augmentation has been out for over a year now and it is fda approved. the lip implants are different sizes but what's niceabout the lip implants is they look and feel very soft, hence very natural.los angeles lip augmentation is also permanent. patients who typically get fillers haveto do so every six months just to maintain some type of augmentation of their lip. over the long haul los angeles lip augmentation does save them because it's a one-time cost and they're done. much in the way we do breast implants, patients have variety of implant options. it's really no different for the lips.there typically is a small a medium and a large implant. what's most important is that they pick something that's going to
match their lips. not exaggerated,but again, not too small so that you don't actually notice anything. typically when a patient comes in we'll often size them. we'll actually take some measurements of their lips to get an ideaof what they're looking to achieve. how much fullness they want. where they want it andbased on that we can really customize an implant for them. if i do decide i don't want it anymorethey can actually take it out. what's really nice about los angeles lip augmentation is that it's a very simple procedure to do. minimal anesthesia, it's done under localanesthetic. often if the patients are open to it, we'll give them something in an iv formto help relax them a little bit.
honestly it involves a couple of dentalblocks in the lower lip and in the upper lip and a little bit in the corners of the mouth. once the patient is numb, they don't feel anything. i think the biggest thing they ever talk about is they sometime feel a little pulling or tugging but nothing painful or sharp. typically what's done is a smallincision is made at the corner of the mouth and then a special instrument is actuallyplaced underneath the skin of the lip and actually makes a little tunnel to go from one side to the other. thenthe implant is basically soaked in an antibiotic
solution and then passed from one corner ofthe mouth to the other. once the implant is in place, which takes just a few minutes, the implantis molded into position just so it sits right. it's the same process for the upper and lower lip. quite honestly it takes about twenty minutes to perform los angeles lip augmentation and again what's nice is there done. there's one little stitch oneach side that will dissolve within a week. the patient can go back to a regular diet withina couple of days and there's really not many restrictions. there's a little swelling that most patientsdo experience but after a few days it's gone and they look really good. i'm really happy with the results of my los angeles lip augmentation. dr. kapoor picked the perfect size they're not too
big, not too small. they fit my face justperfect. it's the natural look i was hoping for. the procedure was under local. i didn'tfeel anything either which was really good for me as well. after the procedure i wasa little swollen right away which is normal. you will get that. i didn't havemuch discomfort nor did i have pain. i was really ok when i went home. it took a coupleof days for the swelling to go down and i had a little bruising but not much. i am an employee of dr. kapoor. idecided to go with him obviously because i love his work. he does great work. he has actually done my liposuction andi love the job he's done with that as well.
i would recommend anybody to dr. kapoor.
