liposuction 2 weeks post lipo

hi, this is dr. hourglass, and welcome toanother video in our channel star bodies. today we are going to discuss hardness in the abdomen after liposuction. in this channel we discuss everything youneed to know to get that star body that you want. welcome back! liposuction is one of the most commonly performed procedures in the united states. it is a body contouring technique that eliminates stubborn fat deposits in areas resistant to diet and exercise. with the help of liposuction, the patients can get rid of the unwanted fat

and acquire a sleeker and more aesthetically pleasingfigure. you need to understand that, just like any surgery, plastic surgery carries some risks and possible complications. even though liposuction is considered a minimally invasive procedure, the after effects can be discomforting to the patient. when we perform liposuction, we use a hollow cannula that essentially goes through the fatty layers of the abdomen, and is connected to a suction machine. this cannula, suctions the fats in a back and forth motion that can cause trauma and possible injury to the surrounding fats that stay in place after liposuction.

it is highly possible that this movement can inadvertently affect the lymphatic layer and damage the lymphatic vessels. the body responds by sending extra blood vessels to heal the area and this, combined with traumatized tissues and body fluids essentially result in a very common side effect, which is hardness in the area targeted during liposuction. the hardness feels like smoked ham and this can occur in any liposuction procedure. you need to be very patient since this is just going to resolve itself, with time. the good news is that the body will absolutely reabsorb a lot of these areas. wearing compression garments and having lymphatic massage as part of postoperative care will help resolve

the hardness at the surgical site. compression garments helps the skin retract and ensure an even result while a massage is supposed to reduce edema and help in faster recovery. typically, the hardness resolves within 6 months. sometimes, it takes up to 9 months, but ultimately it goes away. knowing all you can about these side effects will enable you to prepare yourself for the procedure, let you know what to expect after surgery and help you arrive at realistic expectations about results. in this video, we discussed the hardness in the abdomen after liposuction. in the next video, we discuss the liposuction downtime.
