hi, this is dr. hourglass, and welcome toanother video in our channel star bodies. today we are going to discuss what an umbilical hernia is? in this channel, we discuss everything you need to know to get that star body that you want. welcome back it is not uncommon while performinga tummy tuck or any aesthetic surgery of the abdomen for the surgeon to encounter an abdominal hernia. the most common hernia that has surgical implications during a tummy tuck is the umbilical hernia, which is a protrusion due to either pregnancy an anatomical defect, or genetics.
in the floor of the belly button, there is a hole, and either fat or bowel protrudes through the actual belly button, creating a bulge that it is very obvious to the experienced surgeon. a hernia will usually be asymptomatic, but sometimes can cause pain and discomfort. an umbilical hernia in adults usually occurs when too much pressure is put on a weak section of the stomach muscles, due to factors including:• being overweight • frequent pregnancies • multiple gestation (having twins, triplets, etc.) • fluid in the abdominal cavity • stomach surgery • having a persistent, heavy cough these hernias can be small and located indifferent areas of the belly button,
